Peet’s Coffee & Tea

coffee shops 002Beginning this week  and on through the summer we plan to post a weekly review of one of the many coffee shops we have visited on the Central Coast of California. Some of these are long time favorites while others were discovered during our Sabbatical or on one of our Sabbath outings.  Check in on Tuesdays for our latest post on Coffee House Sabbaths.

Peet’s Coffee and Tea is located in downtown San Luis Obispo and is one of our favorite destinations. I like the open courtyard in front of the shop with people walking their dogs, shopping, or simply strolling in the sunshine. The coffee is good and the staff remembers to ask for my name and call it out when the coffee is ready. Peet’s rates a 9 out of 10 on my list. — Tom

I like the casual atmosphere and the opportunity for people-watching as the courtyard encompasses some great shops and very large potted plants. One couple strolled by with a humongous white dog–I have no clue as to the breed–which complemented the enormous potted plants. Nice touch, I thought. My mocha was hot and lasted through my reading of the newspaper. We often enjoy Peet’s coffee at home also, so I’d rate Peet’s a 9. –Susan

Any other lovers of Peet’s out there?

  1. I love Pete’s Coffee & Tea as well! Jeremy, Garth and I meet there Friday mornings. I like the courtyard… closest thing we’ve got to a European corridor of sorts…

  2. ummm ya peets is the best…

  3. I know Lissa…we’re both really, really, really needy for that morning cup of coffee, aren’t we? Oh, and some quiet would go nice with it too. That includes quiet kids of all ages…toddlers, school age, teens or young adults…just quiet for my morning cup, don’t ya know?

  4. Never tried it, or even noticed it (the coffee shop that is). I’ll have tostop in next time in in SLO.

  5. Never tried it or even noticed it (the coffee shop that is). After these great reviews, I’ll have to make it a point to stop in on my next trip to SLO.
