Cambria Palms

The back garden at Cambria PalmsThe Cambria Palms is one of the quaint little cambria hotels known for being the best deal in town in the popular village of Cambria on the Central Coast of California. The bonus is that it is a great place to stay for a Sabbath get-away or for a week’s Sabbatical.

Located at 2662 Main Street in Cambria, along the beautiful Pacific Coast highway, the Cambria Palms is designated as a boutique motel.

Recently remodeled and upgraded, the little motel is on the outskirts of town next to a creek, yet it is within walking distance of the French Corner Bakery that I reviewed last week.

Large pots and french benches line the walkways by the rooms. Quiet breezes blow through the garden. The ocean is just minutes away and the area is home to many of the best wineries in California.

When we visited, there were several groups of people eating their take-out lunches in the new side garden. This area also hosts a large bar-b-que pit and many cozy eating areas. One has the feel of being in a private garden as the walkway meanders along the length of the motel.

Several of the rooms have kitchens and porches that exit onto the beautiful back garden and fire pit. This area would also be a lovely spot for a wedding and reception.

2009 has been the year of remodeling for the Cambria Palms. All the rooms have Wi-Fi, new beds with 5 star quality comforters, cable TV and in-room coffee and tea. The outside of the motel has been re-stuccoed and painted. The rooms all have new windows, paint, and decor. Off season rates run from $49.00 to $79.00 while the summer rates are more in the range of $69 to $129.

Personally, I think this little motel has the best website out of all the places to stay in Cambria. It is a reflection of the service and accommodations you will find on site. Their list of things to see and do in and around Cambria includes their personal comments which is really helpful. Plus, the photos are much better then I can post here.

If you are looking for a place to spend a few days for a Sabbatical or just over night, the Cambria Palms Motel might just work for you.
